Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, May 22, 2026 – Syngular Solutions, Brazil’s leading engineering and consulting company specialized in Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) and Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) projects, announces the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vallourec, a global leader in premium seamless tubular solutions, to collaborate on carbon capture and geological storage initiatives in Brazil.

The agreement establishes a collaboration framework aimed at supporting the development of BECCS projects, a carbon removal technology that captures CO₂ from biomass-based energy systems and stores it permanently in geological formations. Through this collaboration, Syngular Solutions and Vallourec intend to combine complementary technical capabilities to support the development of carbon capture and storage initiatives from the earliest stages of project evaluation and planning.

BECCS is considered one of the most promising pathways for achieving net-negative emissions. In bioenergy and ethanol production, biogenic CO₂ generated during industrial processes can be captured, transported or directly injected, and permanently stored in suitable geological formations such as deep saline aquifers or depleted oil and gas reservoirs.

Brazil offers a particularly favorable environment for BECCS development, given the scale of its ethanol industry, the availability of biogenic CO₂ streams, and the presence of geological formations with potential for permanent CO₂ storage. This combination creates a strategic opportunity for the country to become a global leader in carbon removal, low-carbon fuels and industrial decarbonization.
