Plugging problem: damaged cased-well
A provisionally closed well, with the casing highly damaged, with no access to the bottom.
Reservoir with total fluid loss.
Tubing end was close to the bottom of the well.
An interception well was planned and drilled to allow access to the bottom of the original well and allow for definitive plugging and abandonment.
The remaining column in the original well below the window was hydroblasted.
The working column descended through the interception well and entered the original well through the window.
A CST with a lower cement plug was made and the top checked.
Then, a “U” shaped intermediate cement plug was carried out in both wells, followed by a surface cement plug.
